AI Chat Assistant — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you use AI Chat Assistant (package name: com.chatmate.app, the "app") and how it is handled. A Korean version is available here.

1. No sign-up

The app has no sign-up. The developer does not collect or store information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, or phone number. Each device is automatically issued an anonymous account (Firebase Anonymous Authentication), which is used only to track your free daily usage per device. This anonymous account contains no personal identity information.

2. How your messages are handled

The text you type is sent to the developer's server to generate a reply, and is passed to an artificial intelligence model provider (such as OpenAI) for that purpose.

• Your conversation history is stored only on your device. What you see on the History screen is kept in a database inside the app and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
• The developer's server processes your input only at the moment a reply is generated, and does not retain your conversations linked to an account.
• Please do not enter sensitive personal information such as national ID numbers, card numbers, passwords, or health information.

3. Advertising

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. The following information may be collected automatically by the ad provider when ads are served:

• Advertising ID
• Device information (model, OS version, screen size, and similar)
• Approximate location derived from IP address
• App usage and ad interaction data

You can reset your Advertising ID or limit personalized ads in your device settings. In the European Economic Area and other applicable regions, the app asks for your consent regarding ad personalization when you first open it, and you can change that choice at any time from the app's settings screen.

4. Sending feedback

When you send feedback from the app, the text you write, any images you attach, the app version, and a random number created for this install to prevent spam are transmitted. That number is not a device identifier, and no name or email address is included.

5. Retention and deletion

Your conversation history and app settings are stored only on your device and are removed when the app is uninstalled. You can also delete individual conversations directly from the History screen.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
